Universal Children's Day, 20 November 2010.
For the first time ever, over a span of 24 hours, TEDx organisers in cities, town and villages all around the world organised and simulcasted global TEDx idea events for and about young people and our future.
All our events shared a common vision and purpose: To inspire curiousity, ignite new ideas and enpower young leaders and children.
From over 60 towns, cities and countries, children and youth shared their voices.
Children and youth in Singapore had a special opportunity to give TEDx Talks and share with Singapore and the world about what they felt, thought and did...
TEDxSingapore hosted TEDxYouth@Singapore on Saturday 20 Nov at Singapore Management University. We had children and youth of Singapore delivering TED-style talks, sharing their ideas, talents and endeavours with the world, TEDx Talks on development and education of children, and as always, we engaged in great shared experiences and activities with an incredible diversity of people and TED fans in Singapore.
We especially enjoyed seeing people come and attend as a family with their daughters, sons, nephews, nieces, grandchildren. Children and youth attended with their parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts.
TEDxYouth@Singapore was dedicated to the memory and ideas of Dr. Milton Tan, who was TEDxSingapore's earliest community member and supporter. As a tribute to the late Dr. Milton Tan, we screened his TEDx Talk "Where do ideas come from?", and and the TED Community collectively launched their paper planes written with their Dreams of the Future and Wishes for the World. click here
